Introduction to the Renewable Energy Assessment Tool
Description:
- This tool requires minimal inputs and provides a broad level estimate of energy generated through various renewable energy technology solutions and their payback.
- Also, this tool provides an estimate of capital investment, the percentage of the total energy that can be offset through renewable energy, operational expenditure, and the cost of renewable energy.
Objective of the tool:
- To help in evaluating the suitability of different renewable energy technology for a building.
How to use the tool:
- There are three sheets in the tool viz.,Building&location, Input, Output and RE_selection
- Relevant Information like built-up area, climatic condition of the location, Actual Energy consumption, latitude and longitude of the location etc. needs to selected and entered in the Building & Location sheet.
- Wherever necessary relevant options must be selected from the given dropdown list, and radio buttons etc.
- In 'Input' sheet, the relevant information regarding shade free area, height of the building, organic waste generated, and capacity of installation etc. needs to be entered
- Informations/number must be filled in only those RE technology options which you need to evaluate.
- In the Output sheet, the user will be able see the propable installation capacity, probable energy generation, capital investment, operatinal expenditure and payback period.
- In the RE_selection sheet, the user will be able to observe which renewable energy technology option is effective for the given building.
- The RE_selection sheet, will help in understanding what percentage of energy demand is met through different renewable energy technologies and their payback period.
- In the RE_selection sheet, one can verify the actual energy generation against the estimated values
