The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and International Institute for Energy Conservation officials, along with the Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, UT of Ladakh had expressed keen intent to make the health facilities of Ladakh, more energy efficient and less energy-intensive to contribute toward the vision of Carbon-Neutral Ladakh.

Taking the thought and the intent forward, a workshop on “Building Design for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy integration in Buildings in Ladakh” was organized by the BEEP-RE Program of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. This workshop aimed to provide a platform to open a dialogue with the key stakeholders of the region, on future actions, and to utilize the results and learnings from the pilot project demonstration and experience in the region. 

It also aimed to share the project experience with building practitioners and decision-makers to understand and promote the construction of energy efficient buildings in the region that were well suited to integrate renewable energy technological implementations. The workshop was supported by the UT Administration of Ladakh and Energy Efficiency Services Limited.
