The webinar series for “Integration of Renewable Energy Technologies in Buildings in India” was organized to disseminate knowledge regarding the shortlisted renewable energy technologies identified in the BEEP—RE project. BEEP-RE with the support of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), in collaboration with U-Solar Clean Energy, organized a six RE-Tech talk series online webinar on project titled ‘Integration of Renewable Energy in Buildings in India.’ The talk series which lasted for almost four months, began on February 17th, 2023, and lasted until May 12th, 2023, and featured one talk every two weeks.
The webinar series was registered by approximately 193 participants representing various building sectors, students, consultants, and experts. The key outcomes of the webinar series are listed below:
The goal of BEEP-RE project is to design, showcase, and monitor building integrated and innovative renewable energy technologies that are suitable for and affordable in the local environment, as well as applicable for various types of buildings, which are currently receiving a lot of attention from the Indian government. The integration of Renewable energy in buildings has a high potential to complement the designs of efficient & high-performance new buildings and achieve a reduction in the carbon footprint of buildings by reducing the energy requirements from conventional technologies to a minimum. These building-integrated sources allow using local resources, reduce distribution losses and take advantage of the large surface occupied by different categories of buildings. Through this webinar series, BEEP-RE fulfils its outcome as outlined in the project by disseminating knowledge and creating awareness regarding the shortlisted RE technologies.
